How much do you spend on cosmetics?

Recently, I have switched cosmetics from Shiseido to Shu Uemura, and the price difference is negligible. However, overall, nice desiger cosmetics can really add up! A set of professional-quality brushes runs about $500-600.

How long does it take for this fake tan to develop?

it takes about two hours to develop.

make sure you exfoliate before you begin, using a loofah or some kind of body scrub (i love those exfoliating gloves you get, you can get them from boots for about £3). this will make the colour go on much smoother and more naturally. dry your skin thoroughly afterwards and decide where you are going to apply the tanner. you might want to apply some extra moisturiser to areas where the skin is a bit tougher than the rest of your body, like knees and elbows. this skin can look funny when fake tan is applied so the moisturiser should give you a more even look.

sometime it helps to start from your feet and work up, as this way you don’t get lines and streaks on your upper body when you bend over. apply the cream in even, circular motions. you could try wearing rubber gloves, this is supposed to make application smoother and also protects your hands from staining. don’t overdo it on areas like knees and elbows and when you apply it to your face, watch you don’t overdo your neck in comparison. if you want cream applied to your back you will need assistance.

once you have applied it you should wash your hands immediately to stop staining, and take care to wash your nails, cuticles and in between your fingers as cream tends to gather here. you have to let the tanning cream dry for at least half an hour, so don’t put clothes on or you risk staining them and cause patches to develop on your skin. the only thing to do is sit on an old towel in a room where you have some privacy so that you are not moving around a lot lol. a good time of the day to apply self tanning lotion is before you go to bed, so that you don’t stain your clothes, but remember to put old towels on the sheets so that you don’t stain them either.

when i use fake tan, i use a make up sponge or a cotton wool pad to do my hands with. also bend your fingers to get in between your knuckles to prevent any tell tale white lines. using a sponge gives an even coverage with no harsh lines and no stained palms. good luck.

help! somethig wierd appeared on my face!?

last nigt i put on some things i found in my drawer called 1. elizabeth arden hydra spash, 2. daniel ryman facial spray and 3. estee lauder clean finish. theyre pretty old but i thought they wouldnt do any damage..
this mroning i found on my forehead some red spots witch looked like mosquito bytes but dont itch!! they are bumby but im sure they arent pimples!!

this happened to me once before…

make SURE you wash your face THOUROLY! make sure you have all of that stuff off of your skin and out of the area you applied it to. use warm (not hot and definitly not cold) water and a new bar of soap. Using a new bar of soap will prevent any dirt that would already be on an already used bar of soap from getting into your pores and cause any more problems. Wash well for 5-10 minutes then just relaxe for about 1 – 2 hours. Don’t eat any junk that could cause another break out. it you want to eat try eating vegetables like carots or celer. Stuff that is healthy for you. If the irritation has not gone away after about 3 hours you might wanna call your doctor and describe it to him / her. He might want you to come in so he can take a look at the irritation. If he does call you in make sure you bring ALL of the bottles you used.

Do not use any of your regular facial medication (if you have any) until the docotr says you are okay to do so

i know Lush but it’s so so expensive, Holland & Barratt which does some great soaps and things but no beauty products as such i hate using beauty products with chemicals in, i even fork out on fake bake as it’s the only fake tan made from 100% natural organic products!!! atm i stick to using johnsons baby products like baby wipes and oil as i figure if it’s gentle enough for a baby it’s ok… i use aloe vera creams and what not but i really want to extend my natural products including deodrant, makeup and generally skin creams and things but idk WHERE i can buy natural products from in England! help!

I had styling wax in my suitcase during a trip and it opened, spilling all over my cotton tank tops. How do I remove the wax before it stains everything for good??? Please help.

I know you can get candle wax out of something by melting it so I’d check the ingredients and see if it contains paraffin. If it does you might use a hair dryer to heat it. If not, you might try dish soap b/c my next guess would be that it contains some type of lipid which can be removed using a dish soap like Dawn.
