I need a new foundation that won’t make me break out?

I don’t wear makeup during the week usually.. and when I don’t wear makeup, my acne usually clears up. But on the weekends I wear Elizabeth Arden makeup and I break out after the first day. I use the Intervene foundation..

don’t use makeup that makes you break out. you either have really sensitive skin or the makeup is old and caky and clogs your pores. I recommend buying either a Neutrogena foundation from drugstores like CVS with SPF 20 or get a Clinique foundation. Neutrogena and Clinique are two great makeup brands that are very easy on the skin, work well, and last long!

Skincare regimen and product use?

I know the basic skin care steps such as cleanse/wash, toner, moisturizer but where should things like on the spot acne treatments and eye creams come into play? I don’t want to cause a reaction with all the different chemicals. I use the Clinique 3 step (cleanser, toner, moisturizer) but also some of the eye repair and also i have a estee lauder firming cream and I have a on the spot acne treatment cream by Neutrogena. And how often per day are you supposed to use these creams? Like is it better to do the 3 step system in the morning or before bed? Or both? Or should i just do the moisturizer twice a day and not the rest? I know some celebs put on eye cream in the morning but I want to know if that is the proper time? Sorry for all the questions I just really want to take care of my skin

First, what is your skin type? That can affect the type of product you use.

Second, it is best to try to stick with the same brand to reduce the risk of a chemical reaction.

Basics, you should wash your face a minimum of 2x a day; morning and night. Eye cream goes after moisturizer. Use your ring finger because it will use less pressure and then start at the inside top corner eye and go around to the outside and then in to the inside corner. This keeps you from breaking and tearing the super thin skin around the eye.

I have acne prone skin but tend to steer clear of the on the spot treatments because they dry out that spot and can overinfect. They do more harm to my skin than good. However, if you really want to use it, use it before moisturizer and use a q-tip to keep from transferring germs.

You can use eye cream morning and night as long as it does not bother you personally. Some eye creams not only firm the skin but will also brighten the area. You may want to look into these.

Beauty secret–I have spent years with acne prone oily skin and have tried so many products I can no longer caount them all. My dr. put me on Oracea for the acne and that has helped that tremendously, but while at the dermotligst with my daughter to have a wart removed I asked what I could so to keep her from the same thing as she is a pre teen. Her answer? The best thing was a moisturiziing soap like Dove and a good moisturizer. Since then that is all we have used and it has worked wonders!!

I’m telling you that I was super oily right after cleansing all my life and it happens no longer. I still use moisturizer and I still use eye cream.. These are essential. Also, remember that summer is coming and spf is essential and can be found in most moisturizers now without the sticky feeling.

You also may want to look into a tinted moisturizer as an alternative to foundation for the summer. Foundation is key beacause it helps to act as a windshield for our face to the elements we meet in nature.

Rosacea/psoriasis/broken capillaries. Can you suggest a skin care routine and make up?

I have rosacea. It’s early phase, and consists of purplish spots just under the skin of my face which are sometimes itchy. I also have psoriasis which flares up on my forehead sometimes, and broken capillaries in my cheeks. I used to have lovely skin, and this facial disaster seems to have come about since I became 40 last year.I’ve had the psoriasis before, but never on my face. It seems to be linked to stress. A friend has told me that it can also be aggravated by internal temperature (I exercise) and fresh air (I am a fresh air fiend. I need some help with products I may be able to use on my face both to help cover up, and perhaps calm everything down. I also need a skin care regime that is not going to aggravate everything.
I used to use Guerlain super aqua serum but it makes everything worse now. I used Clarins Santal oil when I was pregnant, but I’m reluctant to buy it now if it will make things worse. I also need make-up pointers if possible. Thank you in advance.

sun light is excelent for psoriasis (i get it myself on my face when i get stressed) use a cleanser, toner and moisturiser for sensitive skin or dry skin if it is very dry. try not to use exfoliants as it can cause it to get worse.
hydrating masks and some essential oils are also very good for skin conditions such as yours. but dont apply them yourself as some can be quite nasty if you get the incorrect dosage so check witha professional first.
you might find that sun beds really help you, esp the ones which you stand in. a few sesions on one of those will do or even an untraviolet lamp which you can get for the home will help it.
fresh air does not make psoriasis worse and neither does excersise.
you can get camolage make up or camoflage concealer for the rosacea if you can keep make up off of the psoriasis when it fares up as it can dry it out more.
cleansers etc from “strictly professional” are good and they are also quite cheap.the dr may prescribe you hydrocortisone cream and aquaious cream may help
